Innovative concepts, plus sound
Design and 30 years of wide
Experience ensure both
Affordability and
Safety in use
We design the equipment to your own particular requirements, leaving you free to seek competitive prices for
manufacture. We will assist you in procurement if desired. The equipment can be tailored to a specific project
or designed to meet a generic performance specification, maximizing the potential for future use.
We start each project from scratch and, because we do not rely on ‘standard’ designs, our equipment
is usually much lighter than that offered by proprietary manufacturers. This reduces not only the cost but,
equally importantly, the loads applied to the structure. We produce detailed drawings for all structural and
mechanical components, together with comprehensive hydraulic and electrical specifications and circuit diagrams.
We also supply a detailed and fully illustrated Operation Manual.
Our experience covers a period of over 30 years and more than a dozen different countries around the world. We have
been responsible for a number of notable innovations in the design of bridge-building equipment:
- The first precast segmental balanced cantilever erection gantry which provided the necessary stability to
resist the out-of-balance moments arising during construction, a feature now commonly incorporated in all
similar gantries.
- The first precast segmental balanced cantilever erection gantry to use a single long-stroke hydraulic ram
for raising, lowering and rotating the segments.
- The first cast-in-place span-by-span formwork gantry which was split longitudinally into two completely
separate halves during launching.
- The first formwork gantry to use hydraulic wedges to release the formwork, eliminating the need for heavy
jacks to raise the whole structure:
- The first cast-in-place cable-stayed bridge formwork travelers which did not create undesirable reverse
bending moments in the edge girders during launching. The uni-directional loads were also approximately
one-quarter of those applied by conventional form travelers.
