Project Portfolio (Cont.)Cable-StayedRosario-Victoria Bridge, Argentina Contractor: Impregilo/Hochtief JV Form travelers for casting 35 ft long 77 ft wide segments consisting of two solid edge girders, a floorbeam and the full width of the deck slab in one pour. Construction was complicated by the fact that the pier table was shorter than the segments and the bridge deck cantilevered 10 ft beyond the edge girders on each side, requiring a unique solution involving suspension of the travelers from overhead trusses. The travelers also incorporated overhead travelling gantry cranes running on top of the trusses for placing the 12 ton precast stay cable anchor blocks into the forms. La Plata River Bridge, Puerto Rico Contractor: Las Piedras Form travelers for casting conventional 20 ft long 99 ft wide segments comprising solid edge girders, a floorbeam and the full width of the deck slab in one pour. The travelers incorporated unique ‘satellite’ stay cable anchors which were adjustable in both longitudinal and transverse position and in both plan and vertical inclination. An innovative and original launching system eliminated the common problem of large reversible forces applied to the edge girders. Ohio River Bridge, Pomeroy-Mason, Ohio/West Virginia / Contractor: Mahan Similar form travelers to the above for casting conventional 26.5 ft long 77 ft wide segments. The travelers also featured adjustable ‘satellite’ stay anchors and the same novel launching system. More Projects >>>>
