Project Portfolio (Cont.)Precast Balanced CantileverTrent River Bridge, Goole, England Contractor: Cementation This fully-automatic self-launching erection gantry was employed on the construction of the first precast segmental balanced cantilever bridge in the UK having spans of 279 ft. It was the first gantry of its kind which, in addition to placing the segments in position, provided stability to the unbalanced cantilevers, a feature which has since been almost universally adopted for this type of gantry. Torridge River Bridge, Bideford, England Contractor: HBM/Nuttall This fully-automatic self-launching erection gantry was employed on the construction of a precast segmental balanced cantilever bridge having spans up to 312 ft with segments weighing up to 115 tons.
