Project Portfolio (Cont.)Precast SpanMass Rapid Transit, Singapore Contractor: Hyundai, Samsung, GTM and others Two of a series of similar, fully automatic, self-launching erection gantries used in an erection process involving on-site precasting and over-the-top delivery of complete spans up to 105 ft long and weighing up to 300 tons.
Precast Span-by-SpanWando River Bridge, Charleston, South CarolinaContractor: T L James Assembly trusses of this type are usually supported on brackets attached to the piers, involving considerable work in erection, stressing, dismantling and making good. This was the first gantry of this type which did not require such pier brackets, representing a very significant saving in time and cost. The fully-automatic self-launching gantry was used for the construction of 100 spans of 140 ft. I-10 Y-Project, San Antonio, Texas Contractor: Zachry This fully-automatic self-launching gantry supported unusually heavy segments over spans up to 110 ft. and, because of the different configurations of piers, including straddle bents and C-hooks, it had to collapse to an overall depth of only 33 in for launching. The strut-and-bowstring assembly was hydraulically raised, lowered and restressed during launching. The delta-frame pier brackets having a single point of support were also unique. More Projects >>>>
